The nutmeg tree is an evergreen tree with a hairy bark and sturdy leathery leaves and ocher yellow fruits containing the nutmeg seed.Nutmeg Essential Oil is extracted by grinding these seeds and distilling them with hot water vapor.Approximately 20 kilograms of seeds are required for 1 liter of Nutmeg Essential Oil.

The nutmeg tree originally comes from the Moluccas, but nowadays also grows in tropical areas such as Sri Lanka, Indonesia and India.

How do you use Nutmeg Essential Oil?
As aromatherapy
Add 1 drop of Nutmeg Essential Oil, 2 drops of Lemon Essential Oil and 2 drops of Orange Essential Oil to the water tank of a diffuser for a warm and cheerful feeling inside.
In Bath
Mix 2 drops of Nutmeg Essential Oil, 2 drops of Cinnamon Essential Oil, 1 drop of Clove Essential Oil and 5 drops of Mandarin Essential Oil with a tablespoon of honey and add to a heated bath.
As a massage oil
Mix 2 drops of Nutmeg Essential Oil, 6 drops of Orange Essential Oil, 3 drops of Cajeput Essential Oil, 10 ml of Arnica Oil and 30 ml of carrier oil (e.g. Argan oil) and apply to the skin.
In a foot bath
Add 2 drops of Nutmeg Essential Oil and 5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil to 1 tablespoon of Dead Sea Salt and dissolve in a basin with 4 liters of lukewarm water.NB! Can have a hallucinogenic effect if used excessively and in high concentrations. Avoid during pregnancy and undiluted use on the skin.
