What is Caraway Seed Oil?

Caraway seed essential oil is extracted from the Caraway plant by steam distillation. You need between 20 and 40 kilograms of caraway seeds for 1 liter of oil. The caraway plant looks a lot like the fennel plant, but has white flowers instead of yellow. In addition, the seeds of the caraway plant are very similar to cumin seeds, although the taste of caraway seeds is a lot sharper. Both the seeds and roots of this plant are edible and are often used in Indian and North African cuisine.

Where is it from?

The caraway plant grows wild in North Africa, Asia and Europe.
