What is Carrot Seed Essential Oil?
Carrot seed is obtained from the wild carrot plant, also called Daucus carota. A plant species with upright, hairy stems, parsley-like leaves and white lacecap flowers with a black-purple flower in the middle.
The white flowers contain the carrot seeds. The clump of seeds are also called bird’s nests because they look a lot like them.
Carrot Seed Essential Oil is extracted by steam distillation of the dried seeds of the wild carrot.
Where is it from?
The Daucus carota originally comes from the Mediterranean region. Today it grows everywhere in Europe, Asia and America.

Benefits of Carrot Seed Essential Oil
Encouraging aroma
Carrot Seed Essential Oil has a wonderfully warm and earthy aroma which has a calming and encouraging effect on the mind.
It helps you find all the capabilities within yourself during moments when you feel insecure and gives you the strength to dare to stand up for your own opinion.
Ideal skin care
Carrot Seed Essential Oil is known for its skin care properties. It has a soothing effect on the skin and evens out the complexion. It is mainly used for sagging and wrinkled skin and for weathered or hardened skin. Carrot Seed Essential Oil can also be useful for sun damage and skin irritation.
Natural sun protection
Carrot Seed Essential Oil naturally contains a high UV protection factor and contains beta carotene. This makes it ideal for use in your DIY sunscreen and after-sun.
Beta carotene is converted in the body into vitamin A. This substance ensures that the skin is in a healthy condition and stimulates the production of melanin for a beautiful tan.
Carrot Seed Essential Oil must of course be diluted and the SPF value may therefore decrease.
