What is Helichrysum Oil?
Helichrysum oil, or strawflower oil, is a powerfully scented herb. The strong aroma of the helichrysum is very soothing for body and mind. The oil is extracted from the bright yellow flower buds of the helichrysum herb. This is done through water vapor distillation.
About half a liter of oil is extracted from 1000 kilograms of flowers. This makes the oil quite expensive.
Where is it from?
The helichrysum shrubs often grow around the Mediterranean. They can be found in large numbers in the wild, especially in Spain, Italy and Corsica.
