What is Niaouli Essential Oil?

Niaouli Essential Oil is extracted through steam distillation of the twigs and leaves of the Niaouli tree. The Niaouli is a sturdy, evergreen tree with a papery bark and strong needle-like leaves. These leaves are so aromatic that in areas where the Niaouli grows little or no malaria occurs.

Where is it from?

The Niaouli tree originally comes from New Caledonia and Australia, but is now also planted in Madagascar, the Philippines and India.

Fragrance description

Niaouli Essential Oil has a sweet, camphoraceous aroma with a light undertone of Eucalyptus and Tea Tree.

Benefits of Niaouli Essential Oil

Strong antiseptic

Niaouli Essential Oil has strong antiseptic properties and can therefore be used for cleaning sick rooms, toilets or bathrooms, for example.

Beneficial for respiratory problems

Niaouli Essential Oil helps dissolve tough mucus and makes it easier to cough up. It can help with flu and colds, but also with bronchitis and asthma.

Insect repellent

The strong aroma of Niaouli helps keep mosquitoes, lice and fleas at bay

Antibacterial

Niaouli Essential Oil has a strong antibacterial effect, which makes it an ideal wound cleanser. It supports the skin’s natural healing capacity and inhibits excessive sebum production.

Soothing

Niaouli Essential Oil provides peace and harmony in emotionally difficult times and gives strength and confidence to pick up the thread again.

How do you use Niaouli Essential Oil?

As a gargle

Add 1 drop of Niaouli Essential Oil and 1 drop of Peppermint Essential Oil to a glass of lukewarm water and use as a mouthwash and gargle.

In a steam bath

Add 3 drops of Niaouli Essential Oil and 1 drop of Eucalyptus Essential Oil to a basin of hot water. Hold your face over the tub with a towel over your head to retain the vapor and inhale deeply through your nose.

As a cleaning agent

Mix 1 cup of water with 2 teaspoons of vegetable glycerin and 10 drops of Niaouli Essential Oil, 5 drops of Pine Essential Oil, 5 drops of Lemon Essential Oil and 5 drops of Tea Tree and add to a spray bottle. Shake well before use!

In a foot bath

Fill a basin with approximately 5 liters of lukewarm water. Add 5 drops of Niaouli Essential Oil and 5 drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil to 2 tablespoons of Dead Sea Salt and dissolve in the water. Soak your feet in this for 5 minutes.

Insect repellent

Add about 6 drops of Niaouli Essential Oil to a cotton ball and leave it in a place where you want to keep insects at bay.
