How do you use Thyme Essential Oil?
In Bath
Mix 3 drops of Thyme Essential Oil, 2 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil and 5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil with a tablespoon of honey and add to a heated bath to relax the body and mind.
In a steam bath
Fill a basin with 2 liters of hot water and add 1 drop of Thyme Essential Oil, 1 drop of Rosemary Essential Oil, 1 drop of Eucalyptus Essential Oil and 1 drop of Tea Tree Essential Oil.
Hold your face over the tub with a towel over your head to trap the vapor and inhale deeply. Ideal for loosening mucus in case of a stuck cough!
As a cold balm
Heat 25 grams of Organic Coconut Oil and 5 grams of beeswax in a bain-marie. Add 15 ml Argan oil and stir well. Let cool for 10 minutes. Add 4 drops of Thyme Essential Oil, 4 drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil, 4 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil, 4 drops of Lavender Essential Oil and 2 drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil.
Let it cool until it hardens and apply to the chest for colds, flu and shortness of breath!
As a cleaning agent
Mix 10 drops of Thyme Essential Oil, 5 drops of Pine Essential Oil and 5 drops of Citronella Essential Oil with 100 ml of water and 10 ml of alcohol (90%). Pour into a spray bottle and use as a cleaning agent in and around the house.
NB! Do not use if you have high blood pressure. May irritate mucous membranes and cause hypersensitivity. Avoid use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
