Where is it from?
Wintergreen grows wild at the foot of the Nepalese Himalayas, but also in the cool forests of North America and Canada. Nowadays Wintergreen is grown worldwide and is a popular plant for the garden.

Benefits of Wintergreen Essential Oil
Natural painkiller
Wintergreen Essential Oil has strong analgesic properties. It contains the substance Methyl salicylate, which has the same effect as the substance acetylsalicylic acid in Aspirin. It is very effective for flu and cold complaints and tension headaches.
Beneficial for muscle and joint pain
Some sports oils contain Wintergreen because it has an analgesic effect and counteracts muscle and joint pain. The oil is easily absorbed by the skin and can therefore be used to inhibit local inflammation. Wintergreen Essential Oil is very concentrated and should therefore always be diluted when used.

How do you use Wintergreen Essential Oil?
In a diffuser
Add 3 drops of Wintergreen Essential Oil, 3 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil and 3 drops of Lemon Essential Oil to the water reservoir of a diffuser. Turn this on for a fresh atmosphere in your home and to activate the mind.
In Bath
Add 5 drops of Wintergreen Essential Oil, 4 drops of Juniper Berry Essential Oil and 5 drops of Orange Essential Oil to 3 tablespoons of Dead Sea Salt. Sprinkle this in a heated bath for coughs and colds or tension headaches.
As a skin oil
Mix 10 drops of Wintergreen Essential Oil and 5 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil with 50 ml of base oil (e.g. Argan oil). Apply this to your skin after exercise to combat muscle pain or on painful tendons and joints.NB! Avoid if taking blood thinners and if you are hypersensitive to Aspirin. Do not use for too long in a row. Avoid used during pregnancy. Not suitable for internal use.
